Patriot Shooting Academy LLC offers several different types of firearms training.  We offer group training as well as private sessions.  There are several classes to choose from depending on your needs.

Classes include:    Basic Pistol, Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit Course, Women only Pistol Course, Defensive Handgun Course, Practical Pistol Courses, Defensive Shotgun Course and Carbine Course.

Personalized Classes

Patriot Shooting Academy LLC offers personalized for individuals or small groups led by expert instructors that teach the techniques you need to achieve your goals.  Whether you are just begining, have limited handgun shooting experience or are an experienced shooter that wants to continue to improve let one of our professional instructors take you to that next level of proficiency and performance. 

BASIC PISTOL

Fundamentals of Marksmanship

Basic Fundamentals of Marksmanship are an important part of building a solid foundation so that you can develop your shooting skills.  This class is designed to teach the beginner handgun safety and proficiency.  This is a great class to take before you take the Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit Course if you have little or no experience with a handgun.

PRATICAL PISTOL I

Development of Shooting Skills and Techniques

Solid Shooting Skills are necessary for both competition and self defense. This full day class is geared for shooters/ students who have little or no formal training in either tactical or competition shooting. We will start with the basics and work our way through all of the fundamentals needed to develop solid shooting skills and techniques.

  • Gun Safety Rules
  • Proper Grip and Stance
  • Trigger Control (Accuracy)
  • Sight Alignment
  • Target Acquisition and Transition
  • Recoil Management/Recoil Control
  • Draw Stroke
  • Reloads – Combat and Tactical
  • Strong and Support Hand Shooting
  • Tips on "How to Practice"

Cost:$125.00 Per Student


Requirements:

PRACTICAL PISTOL II

Maximize and build a more rounded shooting platform

This full day class will teach you how to maximize and build a more rounded shooting platform with what you learned in the Pistol I or equivalent course. This course will focus on how to shoot from different positions, shoot on the move, use available cover and become a more efficient and effective shooter.

Topics to be covered:

  • Gun Safety Rules
  • Review of Grip and Stance
  • Sight Alignment/Sight Picture
  • Trigger Control
  • Target Acquisition and Transitions
  • Recoil Management/Recoil Control
  • Strong and Support Hand Shooting
  • Drawing from Concealment
  • Shooting from Different Positions (Standing, Kneeling, Prone)
  • Shooting from Behind Cover
  • Shooting on the move
  • Reloads
  • Tips on “How to Practice”

Cost:$150.00 Per Student

TN Department of Safety Handgun Safety Course

TN Carry Permit Course

Classes are taught by one of our Certified NRA and Tennessee State Handgun Safety Program Instructors.

Course will cover handgun nomenclature, function and operation, handgun safety, cleaning and storage, legal liabilities of carrying a handgun and firing range exercises.   Class begins at 9:00am and ends at 5:00pm.   Please Call or E-mail for Class Schedule.

TN Handgun Carry Permit Course requirements:

The State of Tennessee is requiring students to submit the original handgun course application online.

When submitted the student will immediately receive a confirmation number. The student will need to print the confirmation and retain it through the entire process. Please click on the link below to submit your online application with the state.

Required to have for this class:

  • Valid Tennessee Drivers License
  • Handgun
  • Holster(belt or paddle preferred) or gun case/pouch
  • Hearing Protection
  • Eye Protection
  • 50 Rounds of Factory Loaded Ammunition (Reloaded ammunition is acceptable only if it is of commercial manufacture)
  • Paper and Pencil
  • Bag Lunch and Snacks (Refrigerator available and water bottles provided)

      • Cost: $65.00 Per Student

    Course Completion

    At Patriot Shooting Academy LLC. we take pride in all of our students. Upon completion of the course each student will receive a course certificate, detailed course outline and personalized training guide.

    ALL CLASSES REQUIRE YOU TO HAVE:

    • A safe, serviceable semi-automatic Pistol or revolver of adequate caliber for self defense (9mm or larger recommended)
    • Strong side belt or paddle holster (NO SHOULDER RIGS)
    • Minimum of 3 magazines and 2 magazine carriers (More magazines are better)
    • 200 to 900 rounds of ammunition depending on the course requirements
    • Hearing and Eye protection (MANDATORY)
    • Proper weather related clothing (Brimmed hats or baseball caps recommended)

    We offer Beginner to Advanced Training, Personal Training, and Group Training
